Set in rural farmland just outside of Paxton, Illinois, Engelbrecht Farm is remote but easy to find. We’re an easy 2 hour drive south from Chicago, 35 minute drive from north from Champaign, 1.5 hour drive east from Peoria and 2.5 hour drive west from Indianapolis.

Tips on Visiting the Farm

To preserve the historic aspect of the farmstead, many of the original walking surfaces remain. Please take caution while visiting and mind your step. Ladies, you may also want to bring another pair of shoes along with your high heels to slip into once the festivities begin. And lastly, although the barn and other structures will provide protection from the rain and wind, this will be an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly.

Directions

  • Take I-57 north to Paxton exit.
  • Turn west on route 9 and travel about four miles to road 1400 east.
  • Turn south on 1400 east road and travel 1.3 miles.
  • Property is on west side of road. The intersection of route 9 and 1400 east is a T-intersection. You can only turn south on 1400 east or continue straight on route 9.
  • Take I-57 south to Paxton exit.
  • Turn west on route 9 and travel about four miles to road 1400 east.
  • Turn south on 1400 east road and travel 1.3 miles.
  • Property is on west side of road. The intersection of route 9 and 1400 east is a T-intersection. You can only turn south on 1400 east or continue straight on route 9.
  • Take route 9 east through Gibson city.
  • From Gibson City continue on route 9 for 9 miles.
  • Turn south onto 1400 east road and travel 1.3 miles.
  • Property will be on west side of road. The intersection of route 9 and 1400 east is a T-intersection. You can only turn south on 1400 east or continue straight on route 9.
